Are you tired of battling time and gravity?

Looking for a natural, non-surgical solution for loose, saggy skin?  Dr. Selene offers Ultherapy, a non-surgical procedure that tightens and lifts skin with virtually no down time or need for recovery.

We know it sounds too good to be true, but trust us, it isn’t. Ultherapy is the only non-invasive treatment that that the FDA has approved to lift skin on the neck, under the chin and on the eyebrow.

What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy uses focused ultrasound to stimulate the production of collagen deep within the skin. It is an entirely new type of nonsurgical treatment for the face that uses ultrasound to lift, tighten, and tone the skin.

It takes less than an hour and there is no downtime.

How does it work?

Like other ultrasound procedures, we place a smooth applicator on top of your skin. However, in this case we actually heat the tissue below the surface to naturally and gradually create new collagen.

This improves your skin from the inside out without disrupting the surface of your skin.

Collagen is a natural protein that gives skin its youthfulness by keeping it firmed, toned and elastic. As we age, collagen loses its elasticity and literally can’t stand up to the forces of gravity that pull the skin downward.

Ultherapy jump starts a natural repair process that helps patients produce fresh, new collagen – and smoother, tighter skin. While many patients observe some immediate tightening and lifting, the complete, naturally lifted response develops over the next 2-6 months.

How is this procedure different from other cosmetic procedures?

Ultherapy is the only nonsurgical treatment that uses ultrasound to allow your physician to see below the surface of the skin and target the same deep tissue that doctors could previously only access through surgical facelifts.

How is Ultherapy different from Lasers?

Lasers typically address issues in the superficial layers of the skin (e.g. fine lines, wrinkles, pigment changes). Ultherapy addresses the deep skin layer and the foundational layer. By addressing the different problems of these very different skin layers, the two technologies work in a complementary way.

What problem areas does Ultherapy target?   What kind of results do you get?

Ultherapy addresses mild to moderate loose or sagging skin on the face and neck. By reconditioning and renewing the skin from within, Ultherapy will lift the brow, which in turn reduces excess skin on the lids, opens up the eyes, and gives a more refreshed look overall. Ultherapy is also used to lift and tighten sagging skin on the neck and under the chin, addressing the “turkey gobbler” and “double chin” which many patients are trying to eliminate.

How many treatments will I need?

There are good clinical results based upon just one treatment. Some people who have a fair amount of laxity may benefit from more than one treatment, but that can be discussed during your consult. Of course, the natural aging process will continue, so you will eventually lose the collagen and elastin created by the treatment. When this occurs, many patients retreat.

Does it hurt?

Patients have noted some discomfort while the ultrasound energy is being delivered, but it is temporary and a positive signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. We recommend and provide scripts for anti-anxiety and pain medication for the procedure to keep you comfortable.

How long does the treatment take?

It depends on the amount of area treated. A full face takes about an hour. Smaller areas take less time.
